What happens when one of Canada’s largest electrical contractors has a website that makes them look like Canada’s smallest electrical contractor? Well, not much. Which is why they approached Studiothink to create a site that would reflect the size of their company, as well as showcase their expertise in electrical engineering. As a B2B company with large contracts, Western Pacific had already established themselves as a leader in the industry. In fact, they had even created a thriving internal brand, complete with core values and employee incentive programs. So why worry about a website at all? The reason was simple: In addition to wanting a brand image that portrayed their size, they also want to be seen as the contractor that takes on unique, challenging and/or never been done before projects—the root of their true passion.
An electrifying website rebrand.
Western Pacific identified three core areas where they felt would be key measurables of the success of the site. First, was how the owners would feel about the website. Second, was how employees reacted to it, and third, how their customers reacted. In order to accomplish positive results, Studiothink chose to highlight their big, recognizable projects, such as BC Place, Skytrain and UBC. The content strategy revolved around their love of large-scale, challenging projects, and the clean, modern design and refreshed logo were the finishing touches that tied the whole brand together.
