Leading with Creativity

LEADING with creativity. The secret behind thriving companies.

Not a lot of people would list creativity as an essential business tool. That is, until they’ve spent decades running a successful company. I’m going to unwrap why I believe creativity is essential to turning good businesses into great ones.

Creativity can not be defined as purely aesthetic—it’s about seeing opportunities where others see obstacles. It’s the spark that fuels innovation, connects with customers on a human level, and builds brands people remember. It’s also something I’m embracing this year as not just what we do, but as a core value.

In my experience (and I’ve accumulate a lot), creativity has been the difference between solving problems the hard way (also done this a lot) and finding solutions that truly make change happen. It’s what drives bold decisions, ignites passion in teams, and sets extraordinary businesses apart from the rest. By allowing creativity to thrive, you’re rewriting the rules—and that’s where greatness begins.

Why creativity matters.

Creativity isn’t just a marketing too, it’s a mindset. It’s the heartbeat of how you lead, manage, and grow a company. It’s what helps you see possibilities where others see problems, navigate challenges with fresh perspectives, and inspire your team to think bigger.

Creative leadership transforms businesses by fostering a culture of innovation, encouraging bold ideas, and staying ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving world. It has the possibility to reshape a company—rethinking how you approach everything, from decision-making to problem-solving, to create real, lasting impact. And the results? They can shift your business:

How to bring creativity in to your business.

Fostering creativity takes work and determination. And yes, there are some days you won’t get it right. But don’t give up, and be sure you are making a conscious decision to make time for it. It can’t thrive if your team is stuck in back-to-back meetings, on tight schedules, or afraid of what others in the company will think. So, how do you build a culture that allows creativity to flourish?

  • Make time for bold ideas. Creativity doesn’t show up on a packed schedule. Give your team space to brainstorm, experiment, and try new things.
  • Embrace different perspectives. Magic happens when you bring together people with diverse ideas and experiences. Allow the space for diversity to thrive by staying open minded and authentically interested in others.
  • Encourage risk-taking. Not every idea will be amazing—and that’s okay. Give yourself permission to pivot. When you create a culture that supports bold moves, you’ll unlock the kind of thinking that produces new directions and solutions.
  • Lead by example. Your team takes cues from you. If you embrace creativity and show them how much it matters, they will too.
  • Celebrate the wins. Big or small, recognizing creative ideas shows your team that their efforts matter. It’s fuel for the next big thing.

The ripple effect of creativity.

Creativity doesn’t just make your brand better—it makes your whole business better. It can solve problems you didn’t think had solutions. It inspires your team to reach higher and feel confident bringing ideas forward. And it creates a company that people love. In a world that’s changing faster than ever, creativity is a superpower. Use it to adapt, grow, and stay relevant through any roadblocks or market changes.

Is creative leadership for you?

Like all things in business, doing something out-of-the-box comes with risks. You won’t always get it right, you may have to change your perspective or the way you’ve always done things. And that can be scary. But, ask yourself this: what would happen if creativity wasn’t just part of your business—it was the heart of it? What if you gave your team the freedom to think bigger and bolder? What if you led with ideas that excite, connect, and inspire?

I’m here to tell you that creativity will pave the road to creating a business you love, and that everyone else loves too. Plus, when you lead with creativity, you’re not just following. You’re leading the way. Now the secret is out.
